User InstructionsInstallation: The alarm should be fitted at the top of the painting, inside or behind a display case or clock etc using either the double sided pad (supplied) or using a screw or restorers / museum wax or other method of your choice (if appropriate speak to a conservator).. Do ensure the surface is clean and free from grease. Arming/disarming: To set the alarm insert a sharp object into the recess and flick the switch. After one beep and the alarm is armed. If the alarm goes off it will sound for 15 seconds and then auto reset. Sensitivity: The electronics have been set so that a gentle push will not set off the alarm but a knock will. This is to enable cleaning and dusting to be done and also for the artefact to be very carefully moved. Any sudden move or knock will set the alarm off. If there is a chance that a client may accidentally do so, either label or reduce the sensitivity. 105 dB can give a fright ! Sensitivity can be adjusted for protection of special areas like display cabinets or paintings on stud walls next to doors that might slam. This is done by inserting a sharp object into the recess and moving the switch to less sensitive. Full details in the pack.. Batteries: Two alkaline AAA batteries supplied, power saving circuitry gives a typical life of well over 1 year. We recommend testing all alarms regularly.
