CordAlarmTM is designed to provide discrete security for paintings, books, ornaments or other objects where there is supervision, a warden or shop assistant in the room. One end fixes to a wall or table or shelf. The other to the object. One end comprises a loop the other end comprises the alarm with sensor and push in button. It is down to you which end to fix to the wall. Please note the adhesive on the CordAlarm is fairly aggressive and can remove paint etc when the alarm is removed. Used in museums, art galleries, retail outlets etc. where there is an attendant.

User Instructions

Once armed CordAlarm will alarm if either the cord is cut or the alarm is pulled off. It then sounds continuously until reset it or the battery runs down.

Positioning – Mount the loop end first. Attach it firmly to a nail, screw, pipe or some other fixture. Push the alarm end through the loop to give extra security. Mount the alarm on the back of the picture frame, stretcher board, object or wall by peeling off the plastic to expose the double sided sticky. Press it down firmly. This ensures the sensor wire is depressed.

Setting/Arming – Press in the little white button. This is quite stiff so use a tool like a pen to ensure it is fully depressed. The alarm is now armed. To disarm you need to ease off the alarm from the wall, frame etc and with a sharp point push out the white button by pushing the tiny slider underneath.

Battery - the battery should last up to 1 year with the alarm armed. It will last longer if it is not in continuous use. The battery is built in so after use the whole alarm should be disposed of.

Hints and Tips

  • Do not accidentally leave the alarm sounding. Once the battery is dead you cannot change the battery you need a new alarm.
  • The adhesive is very strong. Do not put the sticky end on anything where it might peel off the paint etc.
