Tamper Evident (TE) bags:

This type of plastic bag/envelope was developed in the early 1980's to improve the secure transfer of bank notes between retail sites and the banks. Cash in Transit carriers were experiencing cash losses which could not be traced to a specific person, so the company carried the cost and a criminal in their ranks. The introduction of Tamper Evident bags (cashbags) meant that as soon as a bag is sealed anyone opening it leaves an obvious trace. This key feature combined with a unique numbering system and tear off numbered receipts (each person in the chain had to inspect the bag and sign it off as un-tampered) meant that losses fell dramatically.

Unique, unbranded, police scene of crime / evidence bag with evidence chain now available...see pricing for details

Since the mid 1980's plastics and print technology has thwarted all known attempts to open a bag without evidence. Nowadays bags are often bar-coded and stored after use in case a loss comes to light.

Product Specification

Euronova Tamper Evident bags are sourced from a high quality German manufacturer and have the highest level of security:

The Security Seal:-

The seal reveals if any tampering attempts have taken place

The lettering "STOP" is visible if the bag is opened at room or cold temperatures.

This red line is visible if heat is as part of a tampering attempt.

Occasionally criminals have even used solvents to attempt to defeat the seal.

Other bag features:-

The bags are made from a combination of polythene polymers which make them very strong durable and stretchy. The plastic distorts severely during an attempt to tear it.

The side seals are printed. An attempt to cut and reseal means the print in the side seal is missing.

User Instructions

To use these bags proceed as follows: Fill the bag. Pull off the white release tape to expose the glue. Press down on the blue bag seal.  Now, however you try to open it, through the seal or by cutting the sides and resealing you will leave evidence and the next person (or final recipient) in the chain will be alerted.

Lay the bag flat on a table.

Open the mouth and insert the contents (money, keys etc) and any paperwork. Ensure this is fully inside the bag and clear of the mouth.

Do not overfill the bag.

With the bag filled. Peel off the release (backing) tape - this is usually a colour like white, yellow or silver. This exposes the glue which is on the tamper evident (usually blue) tape.

Do not touch this glue it is very sticky and will leave tamper marks on the tape.

Now carefully press the adhesive tape down onto the bag. The bag is now closed. Do not attempt to open the bag as it will show signs of tampering.

Pull off and keep the plastic receipt (if the bag has one)  Log the number of the bag in the record book and keep the receipt with it.
